ONE person died while five others were wounded when a cargo truck crashed at Sitio Gasang, Barangay Curuan, Zamboanga City at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, October 21.

The Zamboanga City Police Office Station 2 said the lone fatality was identified as Saturnino Villaverto. Those injured were Marjun Lorenzo, driver; Welsie Ligasa, Gino Aminula, Alejandro Cortez, Kimbert Capunon, and Lorie Villaverto.

The truck was on its way home when Lorenzo lost control of the steering wheel and the break malfunctioned.

The driver and other riders of the truck were rushed to the Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital in the village of Quiniput, an adjacent village of Curuan, police said. (SunStar Philippines)
