ONE person died while two others were injured in an early morning collision of two motorcycles in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, October 5, 2023.

The Zamboanga City Police Station 7 (ZCPS7) reported the incident happened around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, October 5, in Santa Maria village, Zamboanga City.

The ZCPS7 identified the fatality as Danilo Fidel Martinez, the driver of one of the two motorcycles.

Wounded were Martinez’s back rider, Reyhana Martinez Dela Cruz, 14, and Samier Samsuya, the driver of the other motorcycle.

Investigation showed that Martinez, upon reaching the junction of the road, made a left turn to De Leon Street in Santa Maria village coming from city proper when bumped by Samsuya who was traveling fast towards the city proper coming from Pasonanca village.

As a result of the collision’s impact, all the three motor riders have crashed onto the pavement.

The attending physician declared Martinez dead while Dela Cruz and Samsuya were admitted for medical treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
