A LABORER died while two others were hospitalized after they were suffocated in a chemical leak in Zamboanga del Sur province, the police said.

The Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police Office identified the fatality as Jelmar Bulay, 19, an ice plant laborer owned by a fishing firm.

Hospitalized were Brinton Wasawas, 29, a machine operator, and Alberto Singedas, 60, operator harvester.

The police said the three were suffocated following an ammonia leaked around 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ramona (Tukuran) Fishing Corporation at Rizal Avenue in Tuburan village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The police said the three workers were rushed but Bulay failed to reach the hospital alive. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
