14 injured in Zamboanga vehicular accident

FOURTEEN people, including five children, were injured on Monday in a vehicular accident in a west coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported.

Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said the vehicular accident occurred around 10:45 a.m., Monday, October 15, at Zone 1-A in the village of Cawit.

Chang said the victims were identified as follows: Nurhana Kamlian, 48; Islay Nuring, 26; Abser Manalos, 24; Ainalyn Alipuddin, 46; Amir Alih, 39; Nur-aina Isdari, 24; Abdil Aziz Isdari, 21; Aldrin Isdari, 18; Mawa Isdari, 55; Khalifa Abdusala, 14; Mihada Isdari, 14; Alizza Cabbah, 10; Mawaddah Alih, 10; and, Jumadil Sarabi, 12.

Chang said investigation showed the victims were injured as the jeep they were riding crashed into an electric post and turned upside down after its driver, Amir Alih, lost control of the steering wheel when the jeep’s brake malfunctioned while cruising on a curve road.

She said victims, who are all relatives, were rushed to the hospitals for treatment. (SunStar Philippines)
