TWO suspected drug personalities were arrested while illegal drugs and some P2.2 million worth of smuggled cigarettes and other items were seized in law enforcement operations in the province of Sulu on Saturday, March 9.

Colonel Gerry Besana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer, identified the arrested drug personalities as Almujir Hajan, 30, and Judimar Adaarabasa, 33, both of Jolo, Sulu.

Besana said they were arrested by joint military and police operatives in a law enforcement operation around 2 p.m. Saturday in the village of San Raymundo, Jolo.

Confiscated from them were two heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride, P686 cash, disposable lighter and a pouch, Besana said.

He said the troops also seized some P2.2 million worth of smuggled cigarettes, three undocumented motorcycles, and assorted parts of caliber .45 pistol from the house of Dimer Alih.

He said the arrested drug personalities and confiscated items were turned over to the Sulu Police Provincial Office for proper filing of cases and proper disposition. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
