TWO alleged members of a drug syndicate were arrested in a law enforcement operation by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Zamboanga Peninsula operatives, backed by policemen, in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Jul Amri Dagurayan Alisane, 46, and Saharin Toto Alisane, 64, a leader and member of the Alisane drug syndicate, respectively.

He said they were arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of search warrants around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday in Sitio Dungguan in Caparan village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Duco said the search warrants served against the suspects are for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Recovered from the suspects were two caliber .45 pistols with magazine assembly and several rounds of ammunition and two rifle grenades. (SunStar Zamboanga)
