2 drug watch-listed, another nabbed in anti-drug operations

THREE people, two of them in the drug watch list, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, January 8.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified them as Armilyn Cruz Lamanhilaw, 32; Jaypi Salabi Ajing, 37; and Lubin Ramisy Iglesia, 42.

Galvez said Lamanhilaw was arrested around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday in a drug bust at Marquez Drive in Tetuan Village.

Recovered from Lamanhilaw were some P30,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), P1,000 marked money, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said that Ajing, who is in the drug watch list, was arrested in possession of some P6,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in a drug bust in Mampang village.

Recovered from Iglesia, who is also in the drug watch list, were some P1,500 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested, also in a drug bust, around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in Manicahan Village, Galvez added.

She said formal charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
