2 most wanted persons nabbed in Basilan, Zambo Sur

TWO of the most wanted persons were separately arrested in manhunt operations in the province of Basilan and Zamboanga del Sur, the police said.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Galwas Ahaddin, Top 6 most wanted person in Isabela City, Basilan; and, Candelario Palangpangan, number 10 most wanted person in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur.

Licup said Ahaddin was arrested by joint team of policemen from Isabela and Lamitan cities at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday in Sengal village, Lamitan City.

He said Ahaddin has standing warrant of arrest for violation of the anti-carnapping act of 1972 issued on September 7, 2016 by the court of Isabela City, Basilan.

Licup said Palangpangan was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday at Sitio Lawis in Panalsalan village, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.

He said the suspect has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with no recommended bail issued on January 17, 2013 by the court of Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur. (SunStar Philippines)
