GOVERNMENT anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected big-time drug pushers and seized some P680,000 worth of suspected “shabu” in a drug bust in Zamboanga City, a top police official said Friday, May 17.

Emmanuel Licup, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Liza Aliuddin, 30, former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW); and Almasir Aliuddin, 27, fish merchant.

Police Brigadier General Licup said the two were arrested in a drug bust by the Police Station 6 at 3:17 p.m. Thursday in Kasanyangan village.

Licup said confiscated from the suspects were some P680,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in two big-size heat-sealed plastic sachets, and one bundle of boodle money topped with genuine P1,000 bill.

He said the drug bust was carried out following surveillance on the illegal drug trade activity of the suspects.

He said the suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
