2 nabbed, P69-K drugs siezed in drug bust

LAWMEN have arrested two people and seized some P69,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City on Sunday, November 25.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Shedran Ismael, and Edgar Ugadora, 31.

Ismael was arrested in a drug bust at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday inside a hotel in Zone 2 while Ugadora was arrested about four hours earlier, or at 3:20 p.m., in the village of Talon-Talon.

Galvez said Ismael, a native of Patikul, Sulu but temporarily residing in Recodo, was caught in possession of 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (or shabu) worth P68,000, a caliber .45 pistol with seven live ammunition, and marked money.

Galvez said Ismael was arrested by joint police, military and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Ugadora was arrested in a separate drug bust around 3:20 p.m. Sunday and yielded P1,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in two heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Galvez said the two suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them.
