2 NPA rebels surrender in Zambo Norte town

TWO communist New People’s Army (NPA) terrorists surrendered to police authorities in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official announced Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the NPA surrenderers as Angelo Tugob and Gernisto Tacloban, both members of the Alyansa ng Mag-uuma sa Zamboanga del Norte (Almazan) under Communist Front Organization of Kilusang Mangbubukid ng Pilipinas.

Duco said the two surrendered around 8 a.m. Friday following series of negotiations in Santa Maria village, Leon Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said the duo are now under the custody of Santa Maria village officials for further community reintegration. (SunStar Zamboanga)
