24 garbage trucks turned over to Zamboanga villages

MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar spearheaded the turnover of 24 garbage trucks to village beneficiaries Friday, December 13, during rites held at the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, Zamboanga City.

Salazar said the 24 garbage trucks composed the 4th batch of equipment to be turned over to the villages since the initial release last November in line with the city government’s solid waste management program.

Fourth batch recipients were the villages of Culianan, Tumaga, Rio Hondo, Mercedes, Zone III, Sta. Catalina, Talabaan, Lunzuran, Divisoria, Sangali, Lumbangan, Baluno, Tolosa, Muti, Taguiti, Tagasilay, Mangusu, Tumitus, Dulian in Upper Bunguiao, Sibulao, Limaong, Tigbalabag, Salaan and Taluksangay, which has yet to claim its share.

As of Friday, December 13, Salazar said a total of 88 garbage trucks have already been turned over to the villages.

The mayor asked the recipient-villages to make proper and full use of the garbage trucks in support of the city’s thrust on cleanliness and sanitation.

She likewise assured the brand and quality of the equipment distributed.

The village chairpersons who received the equipment thanked the mayor and the city government for empowering and equipping the villages to step up the cleanliness efforts.

They all assured to maximize the use of the trucks for the best interest of the village constituents. (SunStar Zamboanga)
