THREE people, including a suspected member of a drug syndicate, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the region, the police reported Thursday, December 27.

Arrested were Jovie Jaman, 29, a member of the Sahibad drug syndicate; Jenny Jane Compis, 27, who is out on bail for drug charges; and, Julie Alabi, 42.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Jaman and Compis were arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in a drug bust around 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, in Sitio Kayatian in the village of Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

Galvez said the arresting team seized from them several sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said Alabi was arrested in another drug bust around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in Zone 6 in the village of Ayala.

Seized from Alabi were P40,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets, P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being prepared against them.
