FOUR persons were separately arrested, while P354,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu was seized as the intensified anti-drug campaign of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) continues, an official said Friday, May 31.

Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, Police Regional Office Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested persons as Aslam Musli, 29, construction worker; Nicanor Mukammal, 26, habal-habal driver; Alkalid Ladjarani, 39; and Delfin Dagatan, 25.

Quidilla said Musli and Mukammal were caught in possession of some P340,000 worth of "shabu" packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets. They were nabbed in a drug bust around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the village of Tumaga, Zamboanga City.

Also confiscated from the two suspects were an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol with six ammunition, an illegal drug paraphernalia, and P300 marked money.

Quidilla said Ladjarani yielded P6,000 worth of "shabu" packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested in another drug bust around 6:50 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the village of Putik.

Confiscated from Dagatan, meanwhile, was P8,000 worth of "shabu" packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets. Dagatan was nabbed around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the village of Ayala.

Also recovered from Dagatan were P300 marked money and one empty plastic sachet.

The suspects were detained pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them, said Quidilla. (SunStar Philippines)
