FOUR persons died, while an infant survived in a highway collision in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday, January 26.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the fatalities as Diosdado Villaruz, 46; Arnold Cabusao Arquiza, 34; Hazel Pepito Wamilda, 33; and Zian Arquiza, 4.

Duco said the infant survivor was identified as Baby Girl Ariane Arquiza, one year old.

Duco said the victims were aboard a motorcycle driven by Villaruz and traveling toward Zamboanga City when they collided head-on with a Toyota Hilux that encroached the lane they were traversing.

All the victims were rushed to the Municipal Health Center but were declared dead on arrival, except for Arquiza, the baby girl.

Duco said June Rey Albios Siete, 23, the driver of the Toyota Hilux, is now in the custody of the police. (SunStar Zamboanga)
