5 BIFF combatants surrender in Sultan Kudarat

FIVE followers of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter-Karialan Faction (BIFF-KF) have surrendered to authorities following negotiations in the province of Sultan Kudarat, a top police official said Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operation chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, identified the BIFF-KF surrenderers as the following: Montasir Bamigan, 23; Alimuden Ali, 51; Jerry Kamid, 25; Bimbo Utto, 22; and Benladin Balayman, 22.

Verceles said they surrendered around 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19, at the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office in Isulan town, Sultan Kudarat.

He said the surrender of the five BIFF-KF members was facilitated by police and military forces based in the province of Sultan Kudarat.

He said the surrenderers handed over their firearms and explosives, which are now under the custody of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
