Anti-drug sting nets 2, P344,760 shabu in Zamboanga

TWO people, including a high-value individual (HVI), were arrested in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested HVI as Hussin Kahal, 27; and, his companion, Jiesam Bahaya, 30, both residents of Sangali village, east of this city.

Chang said the two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:50 p.m. Saturday in Sangali village, this city.

Recovered from the two suspects were some 50.7 grams of suspected shabu packed in eight heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated value of P344,760 and P500 marked money.

Chang said the anti-drug operation was launched following days of surveillance on the suspects’ activities.

She said they were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
