Asdali named as new Zamboanga City Council member

BEN “Digong” Asdali has been appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as the new member of the Zamboanga City Council, replacing the late councilor Crisanto de la Cruz.

Asdali, who belongs to the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, said no less than Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go confirmed the President’s approval of his appointment in place of Dela Cruz.

De la Cruz, fondly called as “Monsi,” succumbed to heart attack on April 7, 2021, at a local private hospital while he was about to undergo dialysis treatment.

“I will continue the works and programs of Monsi,” Asdali said.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar administered the oath of Asdali Thursday, March 10, as the new member of the City Council taking over the place of the late de la Cruz.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the City Hall conference room Thursday was witnessed by his family, Department of the Interior and Local Government City Director Ginagene Vaño Uy, and other local government officials. (SunStar Zamboanga)
