‘BARANGAYanihan’ benefits 4 public schools

FOUR local public schools have benefitted from the “BARANGAYanihan” activities initiated recently by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula and Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said the recipient public schools are: Ayala National High School; Culianan National High School; Lunzuran National High School; and Zamboanga City High School-Main.

Ylagan said medical kits, school supplies, grocery items were shared with the four public schools.

He said some of the policemen have repaired and repainted classrooms; fixed dilapidated desks, chairs, and tables; cut overgrown grasses; and clean the school premises, among others.

“As school year begins for limited face-to-face classes, school officials and students face challenges brought about by Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic,” Ylagan said.

He said that the of the BARANGAYanihan was in line with the Brigada Eskwela activity, which is anchored on the theme, “Handang Paaralan para sa Handang Pasukan.”

The officials of the four schools have expressed gratitude to the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, ZCPO and stakeholders for its continued support.

The activity was held together with the Officer’s Ladies Club of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, ZCPO and stakeholders. (SunStar Zamboanga)
