AN ALLEGED big-time drug pusher was arrested while some P6.8 million worth of suspected “shabu” was seized in a drug bust in Upper Calarian village, Zamboanga City, a top police official said Monday, December 17.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Marrisa Wee alias Indah, 32, who was arrested in a drug bust at her residence in Purok 11, Acasia Drive, Upper Calarian.

Licup said Wee was arrested after she sold suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1.2 million to an undercover policeman.

He said Wee was also caught in possession of more or less a kilo of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P6.8 million, a paper bag containing 12 bundles of boodle money with one genuine P1,000 bill, an identification card, a cellular phone and a fragmentation grenade.

However, Licup said Wee’s cohort, Mayong Ilang Kamlon, eluded arrest.

The police official said Kamlon, who was driving a sports utility vehicle and had just arrived, quickly turned around and sped off upon sensing the presence of the lawmen in the area.

He said Kamlon even bumped one of the policemen, Senior Police Officer 3 Herbert Abilla, a vehicle of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and a parked motorcycle.

He said Abilla, who was injured, was admitted at the hospital for treatment.

He said the drug bust was jointly conducted by policemen, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives, PAF personnel. (SunStar Philippines)
