City allots P100-M to build command control center

THE Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) announced that the construction of the Command Control Center is set to start next month.

Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, CDRRMO chief, said the center that will house under one roof the first responders, including security, will be built at the city government-owned lot in Cabatangan village.

Apolinario said the city government has allocated P100 million for the construction of the center that will house the police, military and intelligence network, monitoring center of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices, including its equipment.

The CDRRMO chief said the establishment of the center is aimed to strengthen coordination among security and disaster response stakeholders.

He said the center will be constructed by a locally-based private construction firm and the construction work is set to complete within one year. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
