City gov’t warns 300 businesses with deficiencies

THE local government through the City Permits and Licensing Division (CPLD) has warned not to renew the license of business establishments found with deficiency.

CPLD Chief Benjie Barredo disclosed that there are over 300 local business establishments included in his office’s deficiency list, which covers the period from 2017 up to the present.

Barredo said these establishments with deficiency included shopping malls, water refilling stations, hotels, and others.

Barredo said the deficiencies included the following: no fire safety inspection certificate; city health office certificate; and, permit from the city engineer’s office.

The city government is paving the way for the implementation of the Business One-Stop Shop Plus (BOSS+) from the first working day of January to 20, 2019.

The BOSS+ simplifies the procedure for acquiring business permits as well the renewal of the permits.

It also introduces new features that will ensure swift transaction.

Barredo said they are targeting to register some 12,000 businesses for the year 2019 in this city.
