Coconut industry stakeholders urged to register

Sunnexdesk

THE Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) said industry stakeholders still have three months to register with the agency and avail of the benefits from the coco levy fund.

Efren Carba, PCA-Zamboanga provincial head, said those eligible to register with the PCA are coconut farmers, workers and caretakers.

There are around 14,000 potential beneficiaries, but only 2,000 have registered with the agency since the registration started two years ago.

He said Congress is resolving issues and concerns on the coco levy funds, including how it will be utilized.

Carba said only those registered coconut industry stakeholders can avail of the benefits once Congress resolves the issues on the utilization of the coco levy fund. (Bong Garcia)
