Comelec to delist 100,100 registered voters

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that it will delist some 110,103 registered voters, who failed to vote for two consecutive elections.

Of the total, 68,213 are from the first district while the remaining 41,890 from the second district, according to District 1 Election Officer Stephen Roy Cañete.

Cañete said the Election Registration Boards (ERB) for the first and second districts will convene on August 13 to confirm the delisting of the 110,103 registered voters.

He said the list of voters subject for delisted will be posted in the village halls.

He said they have to fill up some documents at the local election office in order for them to be reactivated as registered voters to be able to vote in the next election.

He said they can reactivate their status since the registration of new voters is ongoing at the city election office.

The registration of new voters started August 1 and ends September 30, 2019. (SunStar Philippines)
