DOT set to craft tourism master plan

THE Department of Tourism (DOT)-Zamboanga Peninsula is crafting a master plan to set direction on the tourism industry of this region.

DOT-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Karina Rosa Tiopes said they have requested P5-million funds to craft the Regional Tourism Master Plan.

She expects the tourism plan to be completed within six months’ time.

Tiopes said the funds they requested will be used for the conduct of the needed activities in crafting the tourism master plan.

The tourism executive said these will include the conduct of workshops, consultations, site assessments, and the service of experts especially on product development, marketing and promotion.

She said stakeholders like the local government unit, business sector, academe, and the media will be involved in the crafting of the regional tourism plan.
