Farmer nabbed in Zamboanga Sibugay anti-drug ops

LAWMEN have arrested a farmer who is included in the drug watch list in the town of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Sunday, March 3.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Noel Baclas, 29, a resident of Don Andres village, Ipil town.

Galvez said Baclas was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 6:30 p.m. Friday at Purok Angay-Angay in the village of Namnama, Titay.

Galvez said Baclas name is included in the drug watch list of Titay Municipal Police Station.

She said confiscated from the possession of the suspect were four small-sizes heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu; P200 marked money consisting of two P100 bills; and other illegal-drug paraphernalia.

She said the suspect was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
