SOME 49 families displaced by the August 10 fire incident in Sto. Niño Village, Zamboanga City have received financial assistance from the city government.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar led the distribution Wednesday, October 9, of the financial aid in City Hall together with personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and City Treasurer’s Office.

Salazar said the cash aid forms part of the city government’s assistance to persons in crisis situation, a program of the CSWDO.

Over P100,000 was released by the city government to help alleviate the plight of the families displaced by the fire incident, she added.

The mayor said the cash aid was in addition to the relief assistance provided by the city to the fire victims immediately after the fire incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
