Job order government employee nabbed in anti-drug sting

A JOB order municipal government employee was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a top police official said Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Police Colonel Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the arrested suspect as Mike Laya, 42, a resident of Salipyasin village, Kabasalan.

Larubis said Laya was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 11:05 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Purok Green Meadow, Surabay village, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Larubis, meanwhile, did not say as to what municipality is Laya is employed as job order personnel.

He said seized from the suspect were some 14,280 worth of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, P500 marked money, a small metal container, and a sling bag.

Larubis said the suspect was detained pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Zamboanga)
