Lanao cops rescue driver, nab 2 abductors

AUTHORITIES have rescued a driver and arrested two of the seven suspects hours after the victim was abducted in the province of Lanao del Sur, the police reported.

Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, said that the victim, Abdulhakim Bangcola Boring, 22, was rescued eight hours after the suspects seized him around 12:20 p.m. Monday, September 19, in Tuca Ambolong village, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Jalilh Ali Mantar, 22, Boring’s wife, reported to the police around 12:40 p.m. Monday that the suspects abducted her husband in Biaba Damag village, Marawi City.

Verceles said that two of the seven suspects, Jamail Sambo, 32, and Pramis Cola, 62, were arrested in by responding policemen in Bonganga village, Marawi City.

Verceles said that the arrest of the two suspects led the rescue of Boring around 8:30 p.m. Monday at the residence of a certain Alex, one of the suspects at large, in Tuca Ambolong village.

He identified the other suspects who are also at large as Abdufahad Dirampa, Jumalic Mala, Daningning Dia, and a certain Khalid.

He said that a manhunt was launched to locate and arrest the other suspects who are at large. (SunStar Zamboanga)
