Law enforcement operation nets 'MILF' member

POLICE forces have arrested a suspected member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Friday, March 5.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Abdulmahdi Wahab, also known as Ernesto Kandatin, 62.

Duco said that Wahab was arrested in a law enforcement operation around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, in Panabutan village, Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said the police team recovered a grenade, a caliber .45 pistol with one magazine containing seven live ammunition.

He said Wahab is now under the custody of Sirawai Municipal Police Station. (SunStar Zamboanga)
