MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has issued Executive Order (EO) 588, prescribing guidelines for the implementation of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) in Zamboanga City.

Salazar issued the EO after the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) placed the city under MGCQ from August 16 to 31.

Salazar's EO formalizes the lifting of the Sunday lockdown beginning August 16 at 4 a.m., while curfew hours shall still be imposed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Mass gatherings such as but not limited to movie screenings, concerts, sporting events, and other entertainment activities, religious services, and work conferences shall be allowed provided that participants shall be limited to 50 percent of the seating or venue capacity.

Quarantine pass holders shall be authorized to get out from their houses from Monday to Sunday to access basic necessities and provision for food and essential health services including other acts now allowed under MGCQ.

This is the second time for Zamboanga City to be placed under MGCQ. The first was from July 1 to 15.

On July 16, the IATF-EID reverted the city's quarantine status back to GCQ until July 31.

After that, the GCQ status was extended from August 1 to 15. (SunStar Zamboanga)
