Motorcycle-riding gunmen shoot Pagadian City bizman

A BUSINESSMAN was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding gunmen in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Tuesday, September 2.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 7:58 a.m. Monday in Purok Curvada in Dao village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Duco identified the victim as Julius Lumantas Poliran, 53, a businessman and a resident of Purok Pagaypay in Kawit village, Pagadian City.

Investigation showed that Poliran was on his way to board his service vehicle when shot by one of two men onboard a motorcycle that tailed the victim.

The gunmen fled to Purok Mahayahay in Dao village, Pagadian City while the victim was hospitalized.

Duco said investigation continues to identify and arrest the gunmen. (SunStar Zamboanga)
