Motorcycle-truck collides head-in, 1 dead

ONE person died in a highway collision in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, disclosed that the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020, along the national highway in Buayan village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Duco identified the fatalilty as Jomark Angcon, 19, a driver of a motorcycle.

Unharmed was Mahadil Dammang, 21, a truck driver.

Duco said investigation showed that the two vehicles were traveling on opposite directions when they collided head-on as the truck encroached the lane being traverse by the oncoming motorcycle.

He said Angcon, who suffered multiple injuries, was rushed to the Kabasalan Pathfinder Estate Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. (SunStar Zamboanga)
