AN OFFICIAL of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has expressed his full support to the thrusts of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).

Dr. Zulfikar Abantas issued the statement of support during his courtesy call Thursday, April 22, to Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr., commander of Westmincom, at Camp Don Basilio Navarro, which houses the Westmincom headquarters in Zamboanga City.

"We are here to extend our support to you, to the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), and the President," Abantas told Vinluan during his courtesy visit.

The current thrusts of Westmincom are focused on peace and development of the areas under its area of jurisdiction.

Abantas has invited Vinluan to join the NCMF in the groundbreaking of the agency's infrastructure projects in Tawi-Tawi that are materialized through the support of foreign non-government organizations.

Abantas was accompanied by former Assemblyman Nurjay Sahali and Professor Sadjid Adil during the visit at Westmincom.

They presented their policy of attraction toward peace and development in the region to Vinluan.

"Your initiatives complement our goals and objectives and this exemplifies our synchronization of efforts. Let us continue to work together for the common good," Vinluan told the visitors.

NCMF is a Philippine government agency under the Office of the President and is mandated to preserve and develop the culture, tradition, institutions, and well-being of Muslim Filipinos consistent with national unity and development. (SunStar Zamboanga)
