LAWMEN have arrested in a manhunt operation one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Thursday, September 12.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Froilan Quidilla identified the suspect as Maide Abdul Sinsuat, who was arrested Tuesday, September 10, in the town of Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

Sinsuat has been listed as the Top 8 most wanted person in Zamboanga Peninsula and the Top 1 high-value target of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Sur province.

Quidilla said Sinsuat has a standing warrant of arrest for the crimes of murder, multiple frustrated murder and attempted murder.

He said the persistent manhunt operation against wanted persons and other lawless elements creates a positive impact in the community.

"Eradicating the menace of society and building a safer place for the people to live is the primordial concern of the PNP (Philippine National Police)," he added.

Meanwhile, Quidilla urged the community to report all suspicious persons and crime incidents in their area to the nearest police office. (SunStar Philippines)
