Number 9 most wanted person in Zamboanga falls

GOVERNMENT authorities have arrested in a manhunt operation one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Thursday, July 12.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Mohaimen Alawi, who carries the aliases of Otto Alawi and Naser Mandag, 42.

Galvez said Alawi was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday in Malungon village, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She said Alawi has standing warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention with no recommended bail issued by the court of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay dated August 22, 2014.

The police officer said Alawi is listed as the number nine most wanted persons in the region. The latter is a member of the disbanded criminal gang under Mamay Aburi. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
