THE observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2018 in Zamboanga City will wrap up Tuesday, July 31, with the conduct of the first Rescue Olympics.

The event, organized by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), will be held at the KCC open grounds in Governor Camins at 8 a.m.

Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, CDRRMO chief, said it will be preceded by a motorcade from the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in Divisoria at 6 a.m. to the program venue.

Apolinario said the event will gather Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Emergency Rescue Teams of Zamboanga for a day-long event that will include a rescue exhibit and rescue competition.

Apolinario said the exhibit will showcase resources of the different DRR emergency rescue teams.

The contest, on the other hand, will include various events such as lifting and moving patients, life support, extrication and fire suppression.
