Security Forces undergo election duty training

GOVERNMENT authorities are undertaking the necessary preparations to ensure peaceful and orderly conduct of the national and local elections in May 2022.

Part of the preparation was the hosting of the 3rd Joint Security Control Center (JSCC) coordinating conference through the “Train the Trainers Training” by the 2nd Marine Brigade.

The training was held Thursday, January 20, at the Marine Barracks Domingo Deluana in Sanga-Sanga village, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

The Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) public affairs officer said Saturday that the activity was conceptualized following the 2nd JSCC conference conducted Wednesday, January 19, as part of the overall preparations of Tawi-Tawi for the upcoming national and local elections (NLE) 2022.

The NFWM public affairs office said a total of 50 participants attended the training composed of personnel from the 2nd Marine Brigade, its Fleet-Marine Units, Tawi-Tawi Provincial Police Office, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, and support personnel from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Tawi-Tawi.

It said lawyer Allan Kadon, Tawi-Tawi provincial election supervisor, tackled the security aspects to the participants to ensure that all security forces detailed for election duties gained the necessary training and education.

“This is to further guarantee that all involved personnel will be fully equipped for them to be confident, knowledgeable, and trained in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities in the forthcoming national and local elections in the province,” The NFWM public affairs office said in a statement Saturday, January 22.

Kadon lauded the initiative of the 2nd Marine Brigade, particularly the preparations for the upcoming 2022 polls.

He likewise commended the excellent collaboration and unity of efforts being undertaken by all security forces in Tawi-Tawi to ensure a safe, free, orderly, and peaceful 2022 elections. (SunStar Zamboanga)
