Shabu, guns seized in anti-drug stings

TWO businessmen and two other persons were arrested while P91,000 worth of illegal drugs and firearms were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City.

Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as Ibnul Sadaran, 46, Husni Parantis, 37, Fahad Sali, 20, and, Yahsin Uddin, 36.

Martir said Sadaran, a businessman, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, in the village of Pamucutan.

Allegedly recovered from the possession of Sadaran were P1,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), P200 marked money, two caliber .38 revolvers with 14 ammunition.

Martir said Parantis, also a businessman, was caught in possession of some P80,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the village of San Jose Gusu.

Sali and Uddin were arrested also in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in Sitio Kalang in the village of Sangali.

Confiscated from them were some P10,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money.

Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms will be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
