Sunnexdesk

THE technical working group (TWG) created to formulate a feasibility study for the proposed Zamboanga City Hall relocation, has begun preparations to fulfill its mandate by inspecting Lot 60 in Cabatangan village, the proposed transfer site.

Upon instructions of Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salzar, the TWG, led by City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Elmeir Jade Apolinario and vice chaired by City Planning Officer Rodrigo Sicat, conducted an onsite assessment of the area to lay the groundwork for the conduct of the feasibility study.

The TWG was created through Executive Order (EO) 404-2018 issued last August 16 and entitled “An Act Creating the Technical Working Group (TWG) to Formulate a Feasibility Study for the Proposed City Hall transfer to barangay Cabatangan.”

Other members of the TWG are the City Engineer, City Legal Officer, General Service Officer, Budget Officer, Sangguniang Panglungsod Secretary and City Environment and Natural Resources Officer.

The EO cites the Zamboanga City Master Development Plan which proposes to convert the City Hall into a City Museum to decongest the old city center and to disperse urban development as well as proposes the construction of a new government center with location in Cabatangan where the Regional Government Center is already established.
