OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), backed by policemen, recently arrested a target-listed drug personality in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, a PDEA official said Tuesday, December 1.

PDEA Regional Director Emerson Margate identified the arrested suspect as Brendo Guiya Malinao, 35, a resident of Purok Las Hermanas in Poblacion village, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.

Margate said Malinao was arrested in a buy-bust operation last Friday, November 27, in Purok Alo in Poblacion village, San Miguel.

Seized from Malinao were two grams of shabu worth P13,600, illegal drug paraphernalia, and P500 marked money.

He said charges for violation of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect. (SunStar Zamboanga)
