Tesda distributes 170 starter toolkits in Zamboanga del Sur

THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) distributed over 170 starter toolkits to the beneficiaries of the agency’s Special Training for Employment Program (Step) in two towns in Zamboanga del Sur.

Omarkhayyam Dalagan, Zamboanga del Sur Tesda chief, said Saturday, October 23, 2021, the recipients of the starter toolkits are those who undergone Step from October 19 to 22 in the municipalities of Dumingag and Mahayag.

Dalagan said the recipients have completed skills training in Bread and Pastry Production National Certificate II (NC II), Produce Concoctions and Extracts, Produce Organic Fertilizer, and Raise Organic Small Ruminants (leading to Organic Agriculture Production NC II).

The Step training was conducted in Molave Agri-Industrial Technology, Incorporated and Saniel Integrated Farm Technological Business School, Incorporated.

The Step is a community-based specialty training program that seeks to address the specific needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly, through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.

Meanwhile, Dalagan said a total of 1,621 toolkits were already distributed as of Friday, October 22, in the province of Zamboanga del Sur. (SunStar Zamboanga)
