THE “Exposicion de Viajes en Zamboanga”, the first travel and tour exposition in Zamboanga City kicked off at 4 p.m. Friday, October 5.

The exposition is part of the activities of this year’s Zamboanga Hermosa Festival the highlights of which on is on October 12, the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar, the most revered saint of this city.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the activity, which is being held at the Centro Latino Hall of the Paseo del Mar, will run until October 7.

Salazar said the exposition is expected to be the biggest tourism and travel event in Zamboanga Peninsula with the presence of travel companies and tourism-focused organizations.

The mayor said 28 exhibitors which include airline and shipping companies, travel agencies and tour operators, government agencies, souvenir groups, restaurants, resorts joined the exposition to offer budget travel deals.

The exhibit area opened at 4 p.m. Friday, October 5. From October 6 to 7, activity hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The mayor said that pocket events will include cultural dance competitions, tourism quiz bee, regional costume competitions, and product presentations. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
