A VILLAGE official was killed in a drive-by shooting incident in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Monday, July 4, 2022.

Police Colonel Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022, along Governor Ebarle Street, at Purok Santan B in San Jose village, Pagadian City.

Albarico identified the vitim as Wilfredo Velos, Sr. 59, is a councilor in Barangay Santiago, Pagadian City. The victim died on the spot.

Albarico said that Velos was driving motorcycle from Santiago village going towards Dao village when fatally shot with a caliber .45 pistol by unidentified suspect riding tandem on another motorcycle that overtook him and sped off

He said investigation continue to establish the identities of the riding in tandem suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
