THE Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) has mobilized its resources and assisted the Department of Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in transporting food packs during the third and fourth weeks of March.

The Westmincom said that it has helped transport food packs to some 37,369 teaching, non-teaching, para teachers and to Islamic Studies and Arabic Language teachers in Barmm.

Westmincom provided manpower, transportation, and security assistance during the distribution of goods in Maguindanao, Cotabato, Lanao provinces, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

The food packs came from office of DepEd Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte for the personnel of DepEd-Barmm.

Each food pack contained 12 canned goods, five kilograms of rice and other food items.

Lieutenant General Roy Galido, Westmincom chief, commended the troops involved for properly executing this special task given to them.

“Our men in uniform are not only trained to be good soldiers but to be better public servants. We are always ready to assist our partners and stakeholders in all their endeavors,” Galido said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
