Woman nabbed illegally selling fertilizers

AUTHORITIES have arrested a woman in an entrapment illegally selling fertilizers and pesticides in Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Saturday, September 29.

Arrested was Lita Sangcula alias Lita Atinero, 40, according to Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer.

Galvez said Sangcula was arrested around 2 p.m. Friday at Purok Bayanihan in Poblacion village, Ipil town, following complaints that the suspect is selling smuggled and adulterated fertilizers and pesticides.

She said confiscated from the suspect’s possession were the following: one brown bottle containing liquid substance believed to be “Thiodan” insecticide; one gallon containing five liters of “Round Up Green” (Glyphosate) Herbicide; and, one small white gallon containing “Crom Well 8-6-8” Foliar fertilizer.

The entrapment against Sangcula was jointly carried out by personnel from the Department of Agriculture, Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority, undercover policemen and military operatives, she added.
