Zamboanga anti-drug sting nets 2, P240,000 shabu

AUTHORITIES arrested two people and seized some P204,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as Vincent Thelmo alias Bingbong, 31, and Leo Eijansantos, 29.

Lorenzo said the two suspects were arrested in an anti-drug operation by joint police and military team around 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, at a motel in Sta. Maria village, Zamboanga City.

He said prior to the launch of the anti-drug operation, the suspects had been under surveillance by undercover operatives.

Lorenzo said seized from the suspects were 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P204,000, two sling bags, 14 P1,000 bills as boodle money topped with one genuine P500 as marked money, a motorcycle, a driver’s license and a cellular phone.

He said the suspects were detained at the ZCPO’s Station 4 in preparation for the filing of appropriate charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
