ZAMBOANGA City is a 2021 Most Business-Friendly local government unit (LGU) finalist.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said Tuesday, January 4, that the city gets the recognition for the fifth straight year since 2017, as conferred by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated (PCCI), the voice of business in the country.

Last year, the city was nominated by both the Zamboanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Incorporated (ZCCIFI) president Pedro Rufo Soliven and Sophil (Southern Philippines Deep Sea Fishing Association) president Jaydrick Yap.

Their nominations were duly endorsed to PCCI, according to Salazar.

During the final judging, Salazar answered questions from the PCCI judges, emphasizing on the importance of health and security in the city.

She likewise discussed lengthily on how micro small and medium enterprises are prioritized to win against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. (SunStar Zamboanga)
