Zamboanga mayor seeks review of DFA queuing system

Sunnexdesk

ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has requested the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to review the agency’s queuing system and the countenance of walk-in application in Consular offices particularly in favor of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

She formally wrote DFA Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano citing numerous complaints and feedbacks from the public regarding the online passport application and appointment system implemented by the department.

The mayor said the volume of applications received by the DFA is increasing every day, thus, a review of the queuing system is very crucial.

As this developed, the DFA through Assistant Secretary Frank Cimafranca in a letter to Salazar acknowledged receipt of the mayor’s request.

Cimafranca has assured that the department “is continuously working towards improving its services to the public, especially the OFWs.” (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
