BATANGAS -- The port in Batangas allowed sea vessels Tuesday to sail after Super Typhoon Juan battered northern Luzon, leaving 10 people dead and 19 others injured.

The operation was reported back to normal at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The more than 4,000 passengers who were stranded at the port Monday night due to the super typhoon were already able to travel to their respective destinations.

Those who were stranded at the port of Real in Quezon were also able to travel to Polilio Island, television reports said.

SuperCat, a passenger travel brand owned by Aboitiz Transport System, however, cancelled its trip Tuesday noon due to strong rains brought by Juan, which is now heading to China and Vietnam.

The typhoon is expected to be out of the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday morning, the weather bureau said. (Sunnex)
